Well it was a somewhat successful 4 days in Big White, British Columbia. I was not super stoked on my results, but I got some good training in. Im glad I got some starts in before Italy. Tomorrow rj and I will drive to sweitzer, ID and I will race in one of very few alpine series of the season on my calendar. I have been training good, but then choking at races so I'm really hoping I can lay a few good runs down. I decided to make myself a promise... I am going to work out really hard all summer/fall and get my skis super fast so I will have no excuse why I am slow. I mean, not slow, just not as fast as I want to be. I'm getting a little down on myself from this weekend cuz it didn't really pan out like I had hoped, but I have to keep things in perspective. I want to go into Italy just hoping to have some fun and meet some awesome people, because after all, that's what it's all about! I really don't want to be too hard on myself because for my first year in the sport I'm doing pretty damn good. Whew, well now that I got all that sappy stuff out, I'm ready to keep my head up (no matter how bad I do in Idaho). ;) anything can happen, I just have to stay strong and believe in myself and everything will work out eventually.
Okay so an overview on some fun things that happened in Canada:
Pow skiing with Rj on day 1!
Getting to film a little bit
Dinner on the first night (that cost a fortune!) where the waiter was really funny and RJ got a coffe drink thing that they guy tilt on fire and dripped flaming alcohol off a gun into the drink.
The fire alarm going off in the middle of the night and sitting next to the Chinese guy who looked super pissed as he tried to get his son to come sit with him.
The race officialls getting pissed at me cuz I missed picking up my 3rd place award, when I got 4th and the confusion that went with that.
Reading hunger games.
Hanging out with Matt and Tyler.
